There might be something in your life that you are wanting to learn for so long and struggling to get through with it. You want to learn it quickly but cannot figure out how to do so. By reading this article, you will be able to boost your learning experience 10x times very quickly.

Here, I enlist very easy yet effective steps to accelerate your learning 10 times whether you are a student, professional, engineer, or sportsman.

1. Set Small Goals:

Start by dividing your process into small and easy doable tasks. It may seem that this will take a lot of your time but trust me, it is worth it. When you take that step to deconstruct the information, it will start to come into focus and become clear.

Tim Ferris is a very famous American Entrepreneur and author of the book “The 4 Hour workweekThe 4 Hour workweek“, which says that to learn anything faster is to deconstruct it into small learnable units. Then you have to deal with your goals one by one.

Now, if I want to do a task, such as learning a programming language, In the first week, I will learn the basics of the language and find the best course that will suit my goals. Then, my second week’s goal will be to able to do as many practice questions as possible.

By the end of the fourth week, I will move forward to exploring the data structures and explore multiple libraries. Then, for the next 2 – 3 weeks, my goal would be to do some projects to implement what I have learned so far.

2. One thing at a time:

If you can’t distinguish between learning just one thing at a time and learning many things at once, you won’t be able to learn any complicated skill or problem. This might be the reason why you are stuck at learning.

In order to boost your learning experience, you will need to prioritize your tasks and focus on one thing at a time. By organizing and scheduling,  you will not only be able to learn more, but it will also help you keep a healthy mind.

If I try to learn 100 topics at once, I end up doing the same amount of work as if I learned them one at a time.  In terms of time saved, I am actually more likely to save more time by learning one topic at a time than you would by learning many at a time.

So how do we learn more at once?

By switching your learning process from “everything at once” to “one topic at a time”. That is, we need to break up the large, continuous sequence of learning into smaller, more manageable units.

3. Keep Targets in Mind:

You are going to use different skillsets, you are going to use different tasks and you are going to use different methods in each one. It is necessary for you to remember exactly how far you want to push. So focus on your goals, stick with them, and they will help you to get the results you are looking for.

I usually have a hard time focusing on one thing for a long time (e.g. weeks), So I try to create multiple reminders for myself, i.e. making a calendar, make a to-do list and keep a journal to keep an eye on my progress. This also stops me from getting distracting from the main goals.

If you are lacking focus and get distracted soon, you should also try watching some good motivational videos or read motivational content to align your thoughts. This has helped me regain focus so many times.

4. Use a Journal to Track the Learning:

A journal is a great tool for you to reflect on your learning experience. What worked and didn’t work and how the goal can be accomplished next. This keeps you motivated and helps you to move further.

You can also use planners. This means you are not planning your time too hard and keeping your time well-rested. It makes planning your time so much easier, allowing you to focus on your learning.

5. Set reminders

Reminders come in very handy when you trying to schedule your learning experience.  You have to set reminders to start learning, to take a break and go to do another task. This help so much in motivating you, and injecting a driving force in you.  you will for sure have to set reminders on your phones.

6. Revisions

You have to review what you learn consistently. Because learning is a repetitive process. Learning is the cycle of repetition. You learn a new action, new strategy and then you repeat it over and over.

It helps you to create a mental model of what would really happen if you learned the information yourself. As you continue to learn, it makes your learning process go faster, but at the same time, more complicated and more time-consuming.

If you have time specifically dedicated to learning, you should not do it in one batch. Instead, you have to spend small chunks of time doing it and take a break, and then continue.

You must have to dedicate some time to look upon your progress and revise what you have learnt so far.

7. Find a Good Teacher

it is very crucial to find a good mentor, a good teacher or a good method. The only good way to do that is to try different mentors, learn from different courses, start using different methods, as much as you can.

You need to have the exposure to find a perfect way that will work for you. When you have found a way that works for you, stick to it. If you find a right fit with a mentor you will go a long way.

When you find the right method which suits you, then you will have to put all of your efforts into it. You need to have a laser focus and patience to work through the process.
